Word Quilt: privacy policy

Word Quilt is a word puzzle game made by Twan Paemeleire, Ghent, Belgium (published as "Word Quilt Games" on Google Play; "we"). This policy explains what happens with your data when you play.

The short version

• We don't ask for an account, and we have no servers of our own.
• Your progress (solved levels, stars, sequins, settings) is saved only on your device.
• The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may process data about your device to show and measure ads. In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are asked for permission first, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings.
• Purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Data we collect

None. We do not collect, store or receive personal data on our own systems. The game stores its own progress file on your device so you can continue where you left off. Uninstalling the app (or Settings → Reset progress) deletes it.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads between levels and offers optional reward videos. Ads are provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), which is responsible for the data it processes. To show, limit and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may process:

• your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers,
• approximate location derived from your IP address,
• device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version),
• how you interact with ads, and diagnostic data such as crash information.

Your choice (EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland): before personalised ads are shown, a consent form from Google (a certified consent management platform) asks for your permission. If you say no, you may still see non-personalised ads, which use less data. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.

You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

If you buy Remove ads, the ads between levels stop. Reward videos stay available if you choose to watch them.

Daily reminder

If you turn on the optional daily reminder in Settings, your phone shows a notification at the time you chose. It is scheduled on your device. No data is sent anywhere, and you can turn it off at any time.

Sharing and ratings

The Share button on the Daily Quilt hands a short text (your little quilt of coloured squares and your stars, no words from the puzzle) to your phone's own share menu. You choose where it goes; nothing is sent by us. Now and then the game may show the store's own rating window (Google Play or the App Store); your rating goes to the store directly.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Google Play (Android) or Apple's App Store (iOS) under their own terms and privacy policies. We only receive a confirmation of what was bought, so the game can unlock it. We do not receive your name, address or payment details.

Children

Word Quilt is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to object to processing and to withdraw consent. Because we don't hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete. Your progress lives only on your device. For data processed by Google for advertising, see Google's privacy policy, or change your consent in Settings → Privacy choices.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données, https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be).

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and this page.
